The Vision of Central Church

To be a church that multiplies disciples, leaders, and churches for our neighbors and the nations.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Central is a diverse community of believers from all kinds of backgrounds with one common denominator: Jesus Christ. Our goal is not to impress each other, but to live for the glory of God. Our preaching is taught from the Bible and is gospel-centered. Our musical approach to worship is also based in scripture and is meant to glorify God. We care more about substance and the worship of God than anything else. Our manner of dress ranges from those in casual clothes to those who choose business attire. We want to be defined not by our dress but by our relationship to Christ and one another. We invite you to dress however you are comfortable. Our goal is that when you worship with us at Central you feel welcomed by our faith family and that you experience the power and presence of God in our worship.

CENTRAL KIDS

Central offers a rich and energetic preschool and children’s ministry. All of our volunteers are trained and excited to serve in our children’s ministries. We have additional children’s programs on Wednesday evenings during the school year. We also offer exciting special activities for kids throughout the year and training events for parents.

SMALL GROUPS

Central offers a variety of small groups that are geared around topic, special interests and stages of life. These groups meet on Sunday and Wednesday on campus, and all throughout the week in off-campus opportunities. The goal of these groups is to provide a sense of community and opportunity for discipleship.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

We believe in the Trinity:

God is one essence and three distinct persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit

We believe in the Bible:

God has made himself known to the world through the Word of God. The Bible is inerrant, infallible and inspired by God. It is sufficient for all matters of life and godliness.

We believe that

all humanity is created in the image of God and possesses intrinsic dignity and worth.

We believe that

all humanity is born a sinner and desperately needs salvation in Jesus Christ.

We believe in the Gospel:

Jesus is God, born of the virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, died a substitutionary death, was buried and three days later rose from the dead.

We believe that

Salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone.

We believe that

the church is the body of Christ sent into the world to shine for the glory of God and make the gospel visible.

We believe that

Jesus Christ is returning to the world in the future to judge the living and

the dead.

MEMBERSHIP MATTERS

Why does church membership matter when our number one commitment is to Christ? As believers, we are grafted into God’s family and every family member plays a part. Church membership is our opportunity to enable and encourage this family through accountability and responsibility with a covenant connection. By identifying ourselves with a particular church, we let the pastors and other members of that local church know we are committed to attendance, giving, prayer and service, both to those within our church family and those in the surrounding community. We allow fellow believers to have great expectations of us in these areas while actively growing in our faith and journey toward spiritual maturity in Christ.
